HIKING IN UZBEKISTAN
Our hikes are focused on Ugam-Chatkal National Park, which lies north of Tashkent in the western Tien Shan Mountains. It has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site due to its "extraordinary diversity of fauna and flora". You will spend the night in a hotel not far from the shore of Charvak Lake and relax in the evening after your hikes. We have selected the following highlights for our hiking tours:
Patandazboshi is a mountain that can be easily climbed via easy paths. From the summit, you will be rewarded with a wonderful view over Charvak Lake as well as several rivers and mountain peaks.
The Urungach Lakes are also called Jade Lakes because of their colour. Take a refreshing dip in the lakes or enjoy the tranquillity of Uzbekistan's mountains on the shore.
The Gulkam Canyon offers thrills: follow the river of the same name and climb through the canyon. Ropes have been installed at the steepest parts to make the descent easier.
The Paltau Valley offers not only a beautiful waterfall but also a grotto, which was already inhabited during the Palaeolithic Age.
Our hiking tours combine the hikes with sightseeing activities in the historical cities of Samarkand and Bukhara. A guided tour of the capital, Tashkent, is included as well.
