Khiva is one of the most mysterious cities in Uzbekistan. Formerly situated along the Great Silk Road, it offers a rich cultural heritage. The city was included in the UNESCO World Heritage list. The historical part of Khiva is called Ichan-Kala, which means 'inner town'. Ichan-Kala is surrounded by a fortification wall with many architectural monuments within. The inner town is a pedestrian area, which makes it perfect to explore the city on foot.
